The West Peoria Street Department currently operates with 3 employees whose main responsibilities are snow removal, street repair, street signs, and the maintenance of the City's right-of-ways.

Meetings

The Transportation Committee is responsible for issues regarding alleys, bridges, curbs, dry wells, gutters, operation of the West Peoria Street Department, public utilities, sanitation, sidewalks, storm sewers, and streets.

The Transportation Committee meets every 3rd Wednesday at 5:30 pm at the City Hall.

Sidewalk Replacement Program

Petitions to have your sidewalk redone are due September 1st of each year for consideration and possible construction in the following year.

If you would like your street to participate in the City's Sidewalk Replacement Program, you may pick up the necessary forms at City Hall or print them by clicking the link below.

*Please note: All West Peoria Residents must sign up with Waste Management

for garbage removal.

More Information on Garbage Collection

The City of West Peoria currently contracts with Waste Management for garbage, recycling and yard waste services. All City residents must have garbage collection with the current collector according to City Ordinance (Code Book: 4-1-1).

For a garbage collection schedule, please contact Waste Management.

Yard Waste: pickup is included in the billing and will be collected on every Friday beginning in April through last Friday in December. Please note: since yard waste is included in the contract, City Code prohibits outside burning of leaves and limbs (Code Book:4-10-2).

Curbside Recycling: is currently not included in the contract. If you are interested in recycling, please call Waste Management for more information and the current rates.
